Perform with Alberta Ballet in The Nutcracker

Calling Edmonton dancers ages 9-17!

Young dancers from the Edmonton region are invited to audition for Alberta Ballet's The Nutcracker. Selected dancers will rehearse and perform alongside Alberta Ballet's professional artists, gaining an unforgettable behind-the-scenes experience while taking the stage at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium.

This audition is for Edmonton performances only.
(Our Calgary Children's Cast is limited to Alberta Ballet Classes and Alberta Ballet School students. Our Calgary students are asked to watch for audition details in their weekly updates)

Criteria for Children's Cast Members:

• Dancers must be at least nine years old by Dec. 31, 2025.  
• Some roles require a minimum of three years of ballet training. 
• Height restrictions apply due to costume sizing; heights will be confirmed on audition day. Max. height is 6’1.
• Cast members must attend all rehearsals and performances

Each year, young dancers become an essential part of Alberta Ballet's celebrated production of The Nutcracker, performing before thousands of audience members alongside the Company's professional dancers and artistic team.

Auditions will be held Sept. 20. Registration will open mid-August.
